Haley Collins is an 11 year girl who was born with complex congenital heart defects. Her little heart when forming turned eighty degrees too far and caused a multitude of issues.

She had her first surgery at three weeks, with additional surgeries at 2 and 3 1/2. years of age. For the past 7 years she has done very well, but it seems Haley is outgrowing some of her repairs.Haley's parents expected maintainence on her heart in the early adult years but this will not be the case.

Like many other children with medical issues the cost can be challenging, such is the case for Haley's parents. For the past medical expenses Haley's parents used their retirement, savings etc. to pay for Haley's medical care. There are no resources left and her medical expenses are expected to be quite high even after the insurance pays their part.

There will be no government help for Haley even though she is considered disabled her parents both work and therefore they do not qualify. Bonnie (Haley's mom) will have to take an exteneded leave from her work in order to care for Haley and that will be a big financial burden for them.

We know times are hard right now and alot of people are suffering from the poor state our economy is in. If you are able in anyway to help Haley's parents with some of these expenses, we would greatly appreciate it, as will Haley and her parents. It will be one less burden on their minds.

Haley's diagnosis is DORV, TGA, VSD, ASD, coarctation of the aorta.
